Reuben Lendira
Reuben is a conservation leader, an expert in indigenous and local communities’ engagement. He was a pioneer staff of Sera Conservancy, initially as a Community Development Officer, and in 2005 became the Conservancy Manager. Reuben’s quiet and consistent leadership has been vital in ensuring ambitious projects, like the first ever community-owned and managed rhino sanctuary, was a success and has strong community support into the future. Over the years, he has navigated the complexities of community-led conservation building trust with partners, donors and government agencies.
