About the Tusk Conservation Symposium 2024
Why Rwanda?
Our delegates will have the opportunity to learn from Rwanda’s story of resilience, rebuilding, and evolution. This context will provide an appreciation and backdrop for the ground-breaking advances our Rwandan partners are making in community-driven conservation. Two days will be spent in Kigali before heading east for a field visit via the Rugezi Marsh where we will see first-hand the work of our project partners, the Rwanda Wildlife Conservation Association. The final day will be spent in the stunning Akagera National Park (scroll down for map).
Accommodation
While in Kigali on the 3rd and 4th, delegates will be hosted at Ubumwe Hotel situated in the heart of Kigali.
After two days in Kigali, we will head to the Mantis EPIC Hotel and Suites, in Rwanda’s Eastern Province. The hotel is 149km from Kigali International Airport (approximately a 2.5-hour drive) and is 35km from the northern gate of the Akagera National Park. It is also a 2-hour drive from Rugezi Marsh where our partners, the Rwanda Wildlife Conservation Association (RWCA) have their flagship community projects.

Visas and immigration
Please note that all travelers can get their visas on arrival. All Africans are allowed to enter Rwanda without visas. This also applies to member countries of the Commonwealth and La Francophonie. For visa inquiries while at the airport please contact:
